Travel Restrictions

By Travel No Comments

Jun 15th, 2020 I travelled from island to marina to tennis to nursery for purchase of spices and back to island for planting. This planter is linear and plentiful comprising of rosemary, oregano, and lavender. The borders are closed, and our travel is limited and needs planning. Pre-ordered spices, soil and filter cloth and went at preordained time to collect all. Growth and moving forward is what we need to do now and the enjoyment of food with homegrown enhancements is life to the fullest. Eat, drink and play.

Meeting Transportation

By Press No Comments

The new world of northern paradise and who will be living in the city versus lakeside. What are our new goals for our lives? Rental in city, work virtually and a 4,000 sf cottage that becomes your focal point. Are you drawn lakeside or farm side?

Cabinet Details Patina

By Dee Dee's Rules No Comments

May 21st, 2020 On pondering a vanity that I designed and had made over 10 years ago, I am intrigued with the layers of details that have taken on a sheen level of comfort. The design was a framed cabinet with a bead and a burled interior flat panel with an ogee under the frame. They look like today and yester year which is a sign of good iconic design. Iconic design is ageless.

Hand Drawn Ink

By Travel No Comments

May 14th, 2020 Student days in Rome studying the geometry of the temples depicting them on mylar with ink pens. Truly a lost art and passion. The mistakes of the pens are reminders of imperfection that are beautiful. Studying a plan is similar to walk in someone else’s mind feeling the axis and shapes you can explore the plan creating your own. This I called the Chapel of Hope for the celebration of the rites of passage in 1986, a prime time for post modernism. A band of rare red stone holding the washcourse in my pencil crayons.

Sunset Lakeside

By Behind the Scenes No Comments

May 1st, 2020 The days are getting longer and the sky is healing under a cleaner day with little or no pollution. This burst of colour reminds us of the beauty of nature. The days no longer have names but they are one to grab and seize the day. This inspiration keeps me going and sets me to a sleep of dreaming and wonder for the next day. I continue to be creative and motivate people around me to breathe and continue.

Le 1947 Cheval Blanc Reflections

By Dee Dee's Rules No Comments

Apr 21st, 2020 Such a great concept reflecting the ceiling onto the floor and capture the same shape table with an arched shape bell. A circle in a circle in a circle and so on. The re-enforcement of space and containment playing with a curved service is captivating. A stunning dining room to enjoy delights of Chef Yannick Alleno. There are hints of red amongst the white that simply deliver.

Life Contrived

By Travel No Comments

Apr 14th, 2020 Courchevel, France seems like a lifetime ago and I have so many beautiful photos both exterior and interiors. Unbelievable restaurants, hotels and mountains all in the alps while this raging virus spread; I chose this picture as it symbolizes a tree of hope growing under its constraints in a very controlled environs. Ironic, contrived, yet, clever. Very little left to chance and today we all want control with freedom at the same time, something inside me wants to take the tree outside but it would perish: strange.
