The Ladder should be yellow. This shot reminds me of a Robert Polidori photograph and a Frank Lloyd Wright expression. When Lloyd was told by a client that the roof leaked; he said “The bucket should be red.” Polidori’s work contrasts beauty with function. I find this photograph beautiful with the unfinished construction and the bright yellow ladder, it just caught my eye.
The Rule: Organize your wires, line up your metal stud framing, pile up your wood and breathe. The Rule is organize and juxtaposition in design and life gives us all flavour. Plus a pop of colour makes me smile. It is truly the plain and the ordinary that can spark life, look for magic.
